Division I Undergraduate
Division I Undergraduate is a classification within the Division I framework. Teams competing in this division compete alongside Division I Open teams and are eligible to win the Division I title.
All ÎÞÓǶÌÊÓƵ Sectional Championship Tournaments (SCTs) as well as the Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT) award distinct Division I Undergraduate championships. In addition, the top undergraduate team at an SCT may earn a Tier-6 invitation to the ICT (giving it preference over some of the field).
Students are eligible to play in Division I Undergraduate if they meet both of these requirements:
- They do not possess a degree at the Bachelor’s level or higher from any post-secondary educational institution.
- They have not completed their fourth distinct academic year of competition in ÎÞÓǶÌÊÓƵ collegiate championship events (that is, SCTs and ICTs).
A team is eligible to play in Division I Undergraduate if all of its members are eligible to do so.
There is one exception to the above rules: If a player graduates in the middle of a competition year, they continue to be considered an undergraduate for eligibility purposes through the end of the year (assuming they meet the second criterion).
